Yi Lu

Yi Lu (伊路) is one of the most widely read poets in contemporary China. Known for her elegant and distilled lyrical voice as well as her ecological awareness, Yi is the author of five collections, most recently Forever Lingering, Using Two Seas, and See. Sea Summit, translated by Fiona Sze-Lorrain, is the first appearance of Yi’s work in English. She has received numerous honors for her work, including the Hundred Flowers Award for Literature and the Distinguished Literary Prizes from the Fujian Province. Yi leads a parallel life as a theater and stage designer. Currently serving as an active design artist at the People’s Art Theatre in Fujian, she lives in the southern coastal city of Fuzhou.
