dodge-festival-logoSomething outstanding is afoot in New Jersey: the Dodge Poetry Festival, AKA the largest poetry event in North America. Two poets from Milkweed Editions will be making the rounds at Dodge, spreading good verse and teaching high school students about poetry.

Ada Limón, author of Sharks in the Rivers, will be reading eleven times. (Eleven!) If you don’t already, you should follow us on Twitter, because Ada will be live-tweeting the festival for Milkweed Editions.

Brazilian poet Salgado Maranhão is also attending. The publication of his collection, Blood of the Sun, marks the first translation of his groundbreaking work into English. In addition to reading a number of times, Salgado will be sitting down for a round-table discussion on what’s gained and lost in translation.

To celebrate the 14th biennial Dodge Poetry Festival, both Sharks in the Rivers and Blood of the Sun are 14% off from Thursday, October 11th through October 14th.
