Short Stories are the Mini-Donuts of Literature

Short stories are the mini-donuts of literature: bite-sized, irresistible, and gone before you know it. Well, here’s some news that’ll make your mouth water. During the 2012 Minnesota State Fair (August 23-September 3), you can grab a copy of Fiction on a Stick for the deep-fried price of $12.

Fiction on a Stick collects more than twenty short stories by emerging Minnesota writers, including John Reimringer, Éireann Lorsung, and Miriam Karmel. In the spirit of the Great Minnesota Get-Together, the authors compile a modern portrait of the state—ethnographically rich, engaged with history, and culturally celebratory.

Not only is Fiction on a Stick portable, it can be wrapped in bacon and dipped in chocolate upon request.
