Poet Jos Charles (feeld, 2018) will read at Sarah Lawrence College Poetry Festival.
Since 2003, the Sarah Lawrence College Poetry Festival has presented emerging and established poets from across the country alongside current Sarah Lawrence undergraduate and graduate student readers. Our mission is to bring a wide array of contemporary poetic voices to campus and to celebrate the art form. The weekend includes craft talks, panels, book signings, receptions, open mics, and more.
The Festival was founded by students and continues as a student-run endeavor, thanks to those who volunteer each year to plan every aspect of the weekend.
Jos Charles
Jos Charles is the author of a Year & other poems and feeld, a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and Los Angeles Times Book Prize and winner of the 2017 National Poetry Series, selected by Fady Joudah.
This National Poetry Series winner defiantly makes space for bodies that have been historically denied their own vocabulary. These poems stake a claim on the language available to speak about trans experience.
