Emma Yee Yick

Development Assistant

Emma Yee Yick is development assistant at Milkweed Editions. Before joining Milkweed in 2020, she worked at Malala Fund in New York where she was editorial fellow. She graduated with honors from Barnard College in 2019 with a degree in Urban Studies and Sustainable Development. During her time at Barnard, Emma served as editor-in-chief of the Barnard Bulletin, the college’s only campus magazine, and hired the publication’s first all-women-of-color executive board. Emma is passionate about storytelling, women’s empowerment, Latin American cities, and plátano maduro.

I work at Milkweed because I am committed to contributing to meaningful work that touches lives and communities in genuine and transformative ways. I believe that the literature published by Milkweed gives voice to the margins and shadows and imagines a more just, sustainable, and empathetic world.
