CHRIS MCCORMICK is the author of Desert Boys, winner of the 2017 Stonewall Book Award—Barbara Gittings Literature Award. His essays and stories have appeared widely, including in The Atlantic and The Offing. Originally from the California side of the Mojave Desert, he’s earned degrees from UC Berkeley and the University of Michigan and is now an assistant professor of creative writing at Minnesota State University in Mankato, where he’s at work on his second book, a novel.
