Brooke Matson, author of In Accelerated Silence, joins LiTFUSE 2020 to teach a virtual workshop on “The Art of Contrast.” Register for LiTFUSE 2020 here.
All art is created with contrast—sound and silence, objects and negative space, humor and horror, cacophony and euphony. Using contemporary poets, we’ll explore various contrast techniques for making poems zing for the reader, then take a stab at composing one of our own.
Brooke Matson
Brooke Matson is a poet, book artist, and the 2016 recipient of the Artist Trust GAP award and Centrum residency. Her first collection of poems, The Moons, was published by Blue Begonia Press in 2012; her second, In Accelerated Silence, was selected by Mark Doty as winner of the Jake Adam York Prize and will be published by Milkweed Editions in 2020.
