Kevin Prufer

Kevin Prufer has authored, most recently, the poetry collections The Fears, The Art of Fiction, How He Loved Them, and In a Beautiful Country. He is a codirector of the Unsung Masters Series, teaches in the Creative Writing Program at the University of Houston, as well as the low-residency MFA at Holy Family University. Among his honors is the Rilke Prize, five Pushcart prizes, several Best American Poetry selections, awards from the Poetry Society of America, and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Lannan Foundation. His poetry collection How He Loved Them was longlisted for the Pulitzer Prize and received the Julie Suk Award. He lives in Houston, where he serves as Texas Poet Laureate.
