Traci Brimhall is the author of Love Prodigal, forthcoming from Copper Canyon Press in 2024. She is also the author of four other collections of poetry: Come the Slumberless to the Land of Nod; Saudade; Our Lady of the Ruins, selected by Carolyn Forché for the 2011 Barnard Women Poets Prize; and Rookery, selected by Michelle Boisseau for the 2009 Crab Orchard Series in Poetry First Book Award and finalist for the ForeWord Book of the Year Award. Her work has appeared in the New Yorker, Poetry, New England Review, Ploughshares, The Nation, the New Republic, and the New York Times Magazine. In the summer of 2023, she was an Artist-in-Residence at Bighorn Canyon. She serves as the Poet Laureate for the state of Kansas (2023–2026) and works as a professor at Kansas State University, where she directs the creative writing program and holds the Donnelly Faculty Award in English.
