Join us for the virtual launch of Michael Kleber-Diggs’s Worldly Things—the 2020 winner of the Max Ritvo Poetry Prize—co-presented by Milkweed Editions, the Alan B. This event launches the new Max Ritvo Poetry Prize Presents virtual event series. This series brings a vibrant group of poets and poetry advocates together for an evening of celebration, poetry, and conversation. Milkweed Editions is proud to amplify the voices of debut poets through the annual Max Ritvo Poetry Prize, particularly because fostering a dynamic poetry community was integral to Max Ritvo’s work and life. This annual virtual event series will provide Max Ritvo Poetry Prize winning poets a platform to introduce their work to readers across the country with the support and enthusiasm of their publisher, the Alan B. Slifka Foundation, the Academy of American Poets, and a local literary organization of their choosing.
SignNexus will provide ASL interpretation and CART (remote captioning) during the event (*note: captions may only appear on Zoom).

Michael Kleber-Diggs
Michael Kleber-Diggs’s debut collection of poems, Worldly Things, won the 2020 Max Ritvo Poetry Prize. He was born and raised in Kansas and now lives in St. Paul, Minnesota. His work has appeared in Lit Hub, the Rumpus, Rain Taxi, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, Water~Stone Review, Midway Review, North Dakota Quarterly and a few anthologies. Michael teaches poetry and creative non-fiction through the Minnesota Prison Writers Workshop.
Winner of the Max Ritvo Poetry Prize, the poems of Worldly Things offer needed guidance on ways forward—toward radical kindness and a socially responsible poetics.
