The Midtown Scholar Bookstore is honored to welcome Métis storyteller and Montana Poet Laureate Chris La Tray to Harrisburg for a conversation and signing on his new memoir, Becoming Little Shell: A Landless Indian’s Journey Home. La Tray will be in conversation with poet Todd Davis. This event is free and open to the public. Book signing to follow discussion.

The Montana-based Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians became the 574th Indian tribe to be recognized by the United States government in December, 2019, after over 150 years of trying. The tribe’s origins, and its future, are deeply connected to the Métis people.
