Nick Makoha is a Ugandan poet and playwright based in London. His debut collection, Kingdom of Gravity, was shortlisted for the Forward Prize and was a Guardian Best Book of the Year. Upon publication in the UK, The New Carthaginians was the winner of the Ivan Juritz Prize and Poetry London Prize and was named a finalist for the T. S. Eliot Prize and the Griffin Poetry Prize.
