Poet and language activist Natalie Diaz hosts an evening of writers reading about love, and the necessity of both giving and receiving love in a world upon which we hurt so easily. Each of our readers will read one, new, short piece that they have written especially for this night. The event will run 7pm–10pm, and the readings will take place from 7:15pm–9:15pm. Milkweed Books joins other local vendors for a Holiday Bazaar at the Low & Friends Christmas performance at First Avenue, presented by 89.3 The Current. J. Drew Lanham will discuss his book, The Home Place: Memoirs of a Colored Man’s Love Affair with Nature. Lanham, a certified wildlife biologist, is a professor of wildlife ecology at Clemson University.
